Counselling

Adult individual counselling appointments are available at St Michael’s. Please contact us on 071 9170329 during office hours or 0873902661 at any time. Leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our service is donation based, this is decided between you and the counsellor depending on your circumstances.

Re-opening of St Michael’s

St Michael’s Family Centre is now re-opened and services are provided in a limited manner. Face to face counselling has resumed as has play therapy for children already on our list.

All safety guidelines are being adhered to.

Rent of rooms is also available and guidelines are available to those wishing to return.

Support groups will be contacted shortly to discuss when they can resume depending on the relaxation of restrictions on June 29th.

Please contact the office on 071 9170329 with any queries

Update

As the country begins its journey back to some sort of new normal, the outdoor CE staff in St Michael’s have resumed work on the grounds. Hopefully we will see the fruits of their work in the coming months. All guidelines will be followed by Martin and Josef in their work.

Please be aware that although we are not open for face to face counselling, referrals can still be taken and will be passed on immediately to a counsellor who will get in touch promptly. A conversation with the counsellor or a phone counselling session may be of great help at the present moment so please get in touch if you feel you need someone to talk to

Hopefully there will be a further increase in our service after the 8th June with a return to near normal after July 20th. We are aware that the remainder of the year is still very uncertain and because of this, for the first time in 25 years we will not publish an Autumn brochure of courses this August.
We will however publish a leaflet with our services which should be available in September.

We ask all our friends, users, groups and tutors to be patient and to continue to support the centre during this time of uncertainty

Rainbow programme

We had hoped to run the programme starting at the end of September but with the continuing Covid crisis, it appears unlikely that this will now go ahead. We will continue to liaise with Rainbows Ireland on when it may be safe/recommended to run the programme again and an update will be posted here when the situation becomes clearer.

For further information on Rainbow Programme, please check on Rainbowsireland online where you can access further information

Counselling during Covid crises

Please note that no face to face counselling can take place at this time. However we are still taking referrals to our mobile 087 3902661

If you feel it would help to speak to a counsellor please contact the centre on the above number. Leave your name and contact number and a counsellor will give you a call. You can choose then to receive counselling over the phone or ask for a check- in call from the counsellor. You will then be offered face to face counselling when the situation resolves.

Please note we are happy to take referrals for Under 18’s but are not in a position to offer phone counselling sessions to this age group.

STAY SAFE

Covid-19 implications for St Michael’s

The centre is closed to the public and to all groups due to the present situation. This will have huge implications for St Michael’s as we depend on our rent of rooms to fund the administration of the centre.

Sincere thanks to all individuals groups and support groups who use our centre and make it possible for us to provide the service we do. We apologise to you for any inconvenience our closure will cause but we hope you will return to us when this is all over.

At present we hope to pay our staff for March but more than likely we will not be  in a position to do so fully in April.

Everything is in a state of flux but health both physical and mental are the priorities.

Once again we hope to see all our supporters and friends return to us in the not too distant future

Thank You

Management and Staff
