Due to level 5 restrictions and the high rate of Covid infections, services at St Michael’s have been impacted once again.

Referrals for counselling continue to be taken but sessions will be by phone only for at least the next 2 weeks. At that stage we will review the situation taking into account the safety of staff and members of the public
Play therapy services will resume face-to-face as soon as it is deemed safe for all involved.
St Michael’s is looking for a fully qualified Play Therapist to cover maternity leave starting mid March until end of June and probably until the end of 2021. The position is for 2 days per week and ideally the candidate will have some experience.

Members of our CE scheme will continue to work safely in St Michael’s during this Level 5. Work days will be staggered to ensure that cleaning and sanitizing of rooms continues.
St Michael’s Family Centre is opened as an essential service. However there are some restrictions in office hours to allow for staff to work from home where possible.
Counselling service has moved to phone counselling where possible but face to face can be facilitated in emergencies. Given the continuing Covid situation it is unlikely that the propose date of January for the new Rainbow programme will be possible. A final decision on this will be taken by end of November.
The Parenting Support Champions are delighted to deliver the fifth Webinar in the Parent Learning Initiative series. This series is supported by Tusla. This Webinar will focus on Anxiety and will be delivered by Psychologist Julie Meehan. The successful candidate will be a
Fully qualified psychotherapist with qualification/experience in couple and child counselling.
The position will be 12.5 hours per week but flexibility will apply.
Accreditation to IACP or ICP essential

Adult individual counselling appointments are available at St Michael’s. Please contact us on 071 9170329 during office hours or 0873902661 at any time. Leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our service is donation based, this is decided between you and the counsellor depending on your circumstances.
St Michael’s Family Centre is now re-opened and services are provided in a limited manner. Face to face counselling has resumed as has play therapy for children already on our list.
Rent of rooms is also available and guidelines are available to those wishing to return.
Support groups will be contacted shortly to discuss when they can resume depending on the relaxation of restrictions on June 29th.
